The Climatology Group is currently seeking a PhD candidate to join our research team.

PhD position in Past Weather and Climate Extremes in Switzerland

The PhD project focuses on reconstructing and analysing past weather and climate extremes in Switzerland and Europe, with particular emphasis on heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, and floods. Using multi-century observation-based weather reconstructions and climate model simulations, the project aims to better understand the variability, drivers, and impacts of extreme events in the pre-industrial era.
