Monitoring Network in Other Cities

We are also involved in setting up and operating urban climate monitoring networks in other cities and municipalities. Examples include

Biel (since 2023): The Biel measurement network was established in 2023 and 2024 as part of two master's theses. In 2025, the measurement network was handed over to the city of Biel. However, we continue to support the city of Biel and operate the visualisation of live data: Bielometer

Thun and Steffisburg (since 2024): The Thun-Steffisburg measurement network was set up in the summer of 2024 as part of a master's thesis and handed over to the municipalities in 2025. However, we continue to support the municipalities and operate the visualisation of live data: Thunometer

Ostermundigen (since 2022): In addition to the stations installed by the Bern city climate measurement network in Ostermundigen, additional measuring stations were set up from 2022 onwards to comprehensively record the microclimate of the neighbouring municipality.
