My project broadly consists in analysing persistent jet states in the massive CEMS-LENS2 dataset. My first goal is to find a consistent way to recognize and characterize them in the tens of thousands of years of cumulated data. Then, along with Duncan, we will try and establish a causal link between these states and surface extremes in Europe like heat waves or floodings.

My research focuses on persistent North Atlantic jet states in summer. My goal is to establish statistical links between the persistent states and the eddy-driven or subtropical nature of the jet, as well as with Rossby wave-breaking and, in conjunction with Duncan's work, surface extremes.
