Accommodation

Touristic infrastructure in Bern is very good. Bern offers a wide range of hotels at all standards. All hotels are located in the city centre and are within walking distance to the university (or very well connected by public transportation). The venue can be reached in less than 15min from all places!

The hotels below offer a discount rate for conference participants (about 20 to 25% off) if you mention the keyword "PLPR2016".

Update: We highly recommend to do your booking directly via email or phone call. If you need to proof your participation, you can download a confirmation directly from Conftool (see "Visa Invitation Letter").

We reserved a limited contingent for our participants in all hotels of the list until Jan 15th 2016 latest. After that date, you will still be able to get the discount, but we do not have any influence on the availability of rooms. The contingent in each hotel is limited. We recommend to do your booking as soon as possible.

    Four-star hotel, centrally located in Old Town of Bern (next to the Federal parliament building).
    Travel time to the venue: 10 min on foot, 5 min by bus.
  • Hotel Metropole
    Three-star hotel in Old Town of Bern (Waisenhausplatz). Travel time to the venue: 10 min on foot, 5 min by bus.
  • Hotel Kreuz
    Three-star hotel in Old Town of Bern (Waisenhausplatz). Travel time to the venue: 10 min on foot, 5 min by bus.
  • Hotel Ador
    Three-star hotel at the edge of city center (Hirschengraben, Kocherpark).
    Very close to conference venue. Travel time to the venue: 5 min walk

Visitors tax

In Bern, a visitors tax has to be paid to contribute for the costs of public infrastructure and cultural program. The rate is 2.30 to 4.30 CHF per night and will be collected by your accommodation. Information here (in German)
