Meine Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Auswirkungen interurbaner Verkehrsinfrastruktur auf die Regionalentwicklung. Desweiteren befasse ich mich mit den Effekte, mit denen der syrische Bürgerkrieg auf die Verkehrsinfrastruktur, Mobilität, Forstwirtschaft und Landwirtschaft in verschiedenen Regionen Syriens wirkt. Ich nutze Fernerkundungs- und GIS-Methoden, um räumliche Transformationen und sozioökologische Dynamiken in von Konflikten betroffenen Gebieten zu untersuchen.
