Human-Environment-Systems Modelling

Our research aims at understanding the complexity of coupled human and natural systems.

We focus on bidirectional feedback processes between society (values at risk and vulnerability) and environment (hazards and ecohydrology) as well as on the long-term sustainability of management options in the era of the Anthropocene. We study the drivers of flood risk change by means of model experiments and data science approaches.

We are part of the Mobiliar Lab for Natural Risks.
