Mobiliar-Lab for Natural Risks

The Mobiliar Lab for Natural Risks was founded in 2013 as a joint research initiative of the Swiss Mobiliar Insurance & Pensions and the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Bern. It investigates and quantifies climate risks, natural hazards and their effects and it deals with the spatial rendering of these phenomena.

The Mobiliar Lab principally investigates the processes involved in the formation of hail, storm, floods and mass movements. The research area is limited to Switzerland. The Lab is located at the interface between science and practice and aims for results that have high relevance for the general public.
