Dr. Chima Iheaturu is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, Switzerland. He holds a PhD in Geography and Sustainable Development from the University of Bern, an MSc (2018) in Geospatial & Mapping Sciences from the University of Glasgow, UK, and a BSc (2014) in Surveying & Geoinformatics from Imo State University, Nigeria.

His doctoral research, Unpacking Degradation in Forest Patches across West Africa: Integrating Multi-Scalar Remote Sensing and Diverse Knowledge Systems, combined multi-scale remote sensing with diverse knowledge systems to model the spatio-temporal dynamics and degradation of forest patches in West African agricultural landscapes. His current research focuses on forest condition, canopy structure, and land-system change in tropical cocoa and coffee landscapes.
