Andreas Hengstermann researches and teaches at the interface between planning, politics and law. Of particular interest are questions on the impact of planning law instruments in planning practice. Particularly property-relevant instruments are examined.

Within the research group, Andreas Hengstermann represents the field Land Policy.

He supervises final theses at bachelor’s and master’s level. Ideas for research projects are always welcome. Questions that are very well suited to the subject concern, for example, the question of how federal legal frameworks (e.g. Art. 15a SPA) are implemented at the cantonal and the municipal level. Intercantonal comparisons to certain instruments (e.g. Art. 5 SPA) or to certain tasks (e.g. Art. 15 para. 2 or para. 4 lit. SPA) also always contain interesting findings. Final theses can be written in German or English.
