Variability of weather and climate since 1700 from early instrumental observations

Reconstruction of past weather and climate over the North Atlantic European sector with early instrumental series with help of homogenization, documentary data and proxies. This thesis is conducted in the framework of the ERC project PALAEO-RA. The early instrumental series will be further used in this project to reconstruct global climate of the past centuries together with documentary data and proxies in an off-line data assimilation approach.

•    Historical Climatology

•    Past weather and its relation to past climate over the past 500 years

•    Early instrumental series, documentary data and proxies

•    Homogenization

•    Large-scale climate variability and change in a global scale
