Welcome!

The Remote Sensing Research Group at the Department of Geography, University of Bern has a long tradition in processing and analysis of NOAA/MetOp-AVHRR and Meteosat-SEVIRI data.

The two main objectives of our work are:
1. the investigation of snow cover, vegetation, aerosol and surface temperature dynamics of the past 25 years in the European Alps, and
2. the real-time processing of NOAA/MetOp AVHRR data and product generation for our customers.

The Remote Sensing Research Group offers courses at three levels: Bachelor, Master, and Ph. D. (see teaching for more information).
